What we collect

climp collects the minimum personal information needed to run your prep: your name and account email, the goals you set during onboarding (target score, test date, weekly hours, timezone), and your study activity: practice answers, test attempts, score estimates, study-plan progress, and messages you send to Climp AI. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; climp never sees or stores your card number.

What we use it for

Your study activity powers the product itself: calibrated score predictions, your adaptive study plan, spaced-repetition review, and progress analytics. Your email is used for account security, receipts, and (only if you leave them switched on under Account → Email nudges) study reminders. We use aggregate, de-identified activity to calibrate question difficulty. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

Cookies and local storage

climp uses essential storage only by default: a secure authentication token that keeps you signed in, and a small set of preferences (like your cookie choice itself and dismissed banners) saved in your browser’s local storage. These are required for the site to work and are never used to track you across other sites.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may additionally use anonymous product analytics: aggregate, de-identified usage measurements that help us improve climp. If you choose “essential only,” we set nothing beyond the essentials; the site works identically either way. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the choice in your browser or emailing help@climp.io. We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers, ever.

Who processes it

climp runs on a small set of processors, each receiving only what its job requires: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (billing), OpenAI (Climp AI conversations: the question you’re working on and your chat messages, never your name or email), and our email delivery provider (your address and the reminder content). Each processor is bound by its own data-protection terms.

Students under 18

Many climp users are minors. We collect no more information from minors than the product requires, we never sell or advertise against their data, and we support parent-managed accounts. A parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a minor’s data at any time by writing to help@climp.io from the billing or guardian email.

Your controls

You can edit your profile and goals in the app, turn off reminder emails with one switch, and export or delete your data by emailing help@climp.io. Account deletion removes your profile, activity, Climp AI history, and analytics rows within 30 days; invoices are retained as long as tax law requires.

Security

Every user-owned table is protected by row-level security so your data is readable only by your authenticated session, secrets live only on our servers, and access to production data is limited to the people who operate the service. If a breach affecting your personal data ever occurs, we will notify you promptly at your account email.
